About the job Construction Loan Specialist (Remote)
Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an exciting FinTech Company to help them find a Construction Loan Specialist for their organization. This is a newly created position due to growth. The Construction Loan Specialist plays a vital role in supporting Regional Healthcare Managers (loan originators) by managing construction loan disbursements, reviewing draw requests, and maintaining loan compliance. This position ensures a high level of customer service to clients, attorneys, builders, and internal stakeholders while safeguarding the banks risk exposure. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and preferably experienced in construction lending within a commercial lending environment at a bank or financial services institution.
Position is remote eligible, with a strong preference for candidates located in EST (8am-5pm) or CST (7am-4pm).
What you will do:
- Process and disburse monitored construction loan draws and builder line advances.
- Coordinate disbursements with attorneys and settlement agents; order inspections and review reports.
- Analyze draw requests against budgets, AIA documents, lien waivers, and funding sources.
- Review and approve builder packages and maintain appropriate funding-to-cost balance.
- Recommend funding actions in line with bank policy and project status.
- Provide support to borrowers, lenders, builders, attorneys, and title companies; resolve issues proactively.
- Service participation loans, including wire processing, draw tracking, and inter-bank communication.
- Monitor loan delinquencies to prevent disbursements on past-due accounts.
- Process loan modifications, renewals, conversions, and returned items.
- Maintain accurate records and logs for construction loans and builder lines of credit.
- Ensure data accuracy in loan documents, reports, and billing statements.
- Identify potential fraud or risks and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Stay current with state and federal compliance standards, including BSA, FACT Act, CRA, and EEO/AA regulations.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and borrower experience.
What you will have:
- Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered
- 3+ years of experience in a financial institution; emphasis on commercial or construction lending preferred
- Knowledge of construction lending a plus
- Strong knowledge of loan products, federal lending regulations, and required documentation
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Effective multitasking skills with the ability to manage deadlines under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and external partners
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and loan processing systems
- Dependable, flexible, and capable of interpreting and applying bank policies and procedures
