About the job Kindergarten Teacher

Job Description
Start Date: February 2026

We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and creative Kindergarten Teacher to join our vibrant international school community in February 2026. If you are passionate about early childhood education, inquiry-based learning, and fostering the social, emotional, and academic growth of young learners, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will guide students through their first steps into formal education, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. You will create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to explore and grow. Our school emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and holistic development, ensuring that both students and educators thrive in a warm and engaging setting.

Founded in 2016, the school is a K12 international school located at the foot of the picturesque and historic YuQuan Mountain, Haidian District in Beijing. The 200,000-square-meter campus blends natural ecology, cultural heritage, and modern design, with 140,000 square meters of green space.

The curriculum integrates the strengths of both Chinese and Western education. In Kindergarten and Elementary, students engage in a bilingual program based on the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards alongside the Chinese National Curriculum, providing a solid foundation in both academics and cultural fluency.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a four-year degree from an accredited university and a Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or a valid teaching license such as QTS or an equivalent national or state certification. Applicants should have a minimum of three years experience teaching in a Kindergarten or Early Years setting in a bilingual, international, or government/state school. A strong understanding of early childhood development and inquiry-based pedagogy is essential.

Key Responsibilities

In curriculum development and instruction, the Kindergarten Teacher will plan, develop, and deliver engaging, play-based, and inquiry-driven lessons that align with international and bilingual curriculum standards. The role requires fostering a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning, while integrating social-emotional learning, phonics, numeracy, and foundational literacy skills into daily activities.

In student development and assessment, the teacher will monitor and assess student progress through observations, portfolios, and formative assessments. Constructive feedback should be provided to students and parents to support both academic and personal growth. Instruction should be differentiated to meet the diverse needs of young learners.

Collaboration and professional development are also key parts of the role. The Kindergarten Teacher will work with teaching assistants and colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive program, participate actively in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives, and contribute to the development of curriculum resources and strategies for early years education.

Parent communication and community engagement are essential. The teacher will build strong and positive relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and meetings, engage parents in the learning journey through workshops, open days, and celebrations of student achievements, and support school events, cultural festivals, and extracurricular activities to enrich the wider community experience.
