We are proud to conduct a confidential executive search for exceptional Heads of School to lead three campuses within the SIS Myanmar network during its next stage of strategic growth. These leaders will be responsible for delivering outstanding outcomes across both Primary and Secondary education, driving pedagogical excellence, fostering inclusive school culture, and building on strong foundations to elevate performance and reputation.

The Role

The Head of School will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the campus, with full responsibility for shaping the vision and driving excellence across both Primary and Secondary divisions. Reporting to the Groups Executive Leadership Team and working in close collaboration with local partners, the postholder will set ambitious standards for teaching, learning, and student outcomes while ensuring that the school embodies the values and distinctive ethos of SIS.

The successful candidate will build and inspire high-performing teams, embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional growth. They will establish robust safeguarding and quality assurance frameworks, ensuring the highest levels of care and compliance. Beyond the classroom, the Head of School will be expected to act as a visible ambassador within the community, strengthening partnerships with parents and external stakeholders, and positioning the school as a centre of educational excellence within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set and deliver a clear whole-school vision aligned with SIS Group strategy, values and standards.
  • Lead start-up and growth phases: enrolment, programme development, accreditation and quality frameworks.
  • Develop the School Improvement Plan, KPIs and data-informed review cycles.

Teaching, Learning and Curriculum

  • Safeguard high expectations for teaching quality and student outcomes across Primary and Secondary.
  • Oversee coherent curriculum planning, assessment, and pathways, ensuring progression and inclusion.
  • Champion professional learning, coaching and appraisal to build instructional capacity.

People and Culture

  • Recruit, onboard and retain high-calibre staff; set a collaborative, accountable culture.
  • Model ethical leadership and uphold robust safeguarding and child protection practice.
  • Foster positive, timely communication with students, parents and the wider community.

Operations and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, accreditation and Group policies.
  • Oversee budgets, resourcing, facilities and risk management in partnership with central teams.
  • Drive effective admissions, marketing and stakeholder engagement to support sustainable growth.

Partnerships

  • Work closely with SLG Education, SIS Group leadership and external partners to align strategy and standards.
  • Represent the school to local authorities, community organisations and professional networks.


Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree, preferably in education or a related field, is required; an advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) or a recognised leadership qualification such as NPQH, NPQEL, or equivalent will be considered a strong advantage.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, QTS, or international equivalent) is essential to ensure credibility in leading teaching and learning. 
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in areas such as curriculum leadership, school improvement, safeguarding, and international education is expected.
  • Demonstrated experience of successful school leadership, ideally in an international context, with proven ability to manage complex organisations across Primary and Secondary phases

Experience

  • 6 - 7 years successful experience as a Head of School/Headteacher; or a minimum of 5 years as Deputy Head/Vice Principal with clear readiness for step-up.
  • Demonstrable impact leading whole-school improvement across Primary and Secondary.
  • International school experience and familiarity with K12 accreditation and regulatory environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Outstanding command of English with native-level fluency.
  • Evidence of strategic planning, data-informed decision making and measurable school improvement.
  • Strong people leadership: recruitment, performance management, culture building, and staff development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and community engagement.
  • High personal integrity, resilience and cultural agility; committed to safeguarding and inclusion.


Salary and Benefits

  • USD 4,750 - 5,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including housing or housing allowance, annual flights, medical insurance, visa/work-permit sponsorship, relocation support and high-quality professional development.
  • Performance-related incentives may be available in line with Group policy.


Onboarding Timeline

  • May/June 2026: Formal onboarding at SIS South Jakarta, Indonesia, including meetings with the Group Management Team, orientation and leadership induction.
  • July 2026: Commence duties in Yangon, Myanmar.
