We are recruiting for a highly regarded international school in Indonesia, located on an impressive 44-acre campus in the vibrant city of Jakarta. The school is a welcoming, inclusive community representing over 50 nationalities and providing education for students aged 2 to 18 years.
Situated in South West Jakarta, the campus offers outstanding facilities that support academic excellence, innovation, and wellbeing. The curriculum begins with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage, progresses through the English National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning in Primary, and continues into the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) in Secondary. Mathematics is a core academic discipline within the school, with a strong focus on conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and real-world application across the IB continuum.
The Role
Following an increase in student enrolment, the school is seeking a Teacher of Mathematics to join the Secondary faculty from August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to teach Mathematics across the IB continuum, contributing to both the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach IB Diploma Mathematics at Standard and Higher Level, alongside delivering inquiry- and concept-based learning within the IB MYP. There is also an expectation that the teacher will contribute enthusiastically to Year 7 and Year 8, as part of the schools future Middle Years initiative.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the role includes acting as a form tutor within the Secondary School (Years 7–13), supporting students academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
The Teacher of Mathematics will plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven lessons aligned with IB philosophy, supporting students in developing mathematical reasoning, fluency, and problem-solving skills. Teaching will reflect best practice in inquiry-based learning and be differentiated to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
The role involves assessing student progress using a range of formative and summative strategies, providing clear and constructive feedback, and supporting students through internal assessments and external examination preparation at Diploma level.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Mathematics faculty and across the Secondary School, contributing to curriculum planning, moderation, and professional dialogue. Participation in enrichment activities and co-curricular initiatives related to Mathematics is encouraged.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, along with a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or equivalent. A minimum of five years relevant teaching experience is required. Experience teaching IB Diploma Mathematics is highly desirable, as is familiarity with IB MYP inquiry- and concept-based pedagogy.
