About the School

We are recruiting for a highly regarded international school in Indonesia, located on an impressive 44-acre campus in the vibrant city of Jakarta. The school is a welcoming, inclusive community representing over 50 nationalities and providing education for students aged 2 to 18 years.

Situated in South West Jakarta, the campus offers outstanding facilities that support creativity, innovation, and wellbeing, including specialist art studios, digital media spaces, and performance venues. The curriculum begins with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage, continues through the English National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning in Primary, and progresses into the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) in Secondary. The Arts are a valued and visible part of school life, supporting creative expression, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding.

The Role

Following an increase in student enrolment, the school is seeking a Teacher of Visual Arts & Media Arts to join the Secondary faculty from August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to lead the MYP Media Arts programme as the primary teaching discipline within the Arts faculty, while contributing to the broader visual arts provision.

The successful candidate will design and deliver high-quality, inquiry- and concept-based units that develop students digital production skills, visual communication, and creative thinking. The role involves teaching the full film and multimedia workflow, from pre-production planning through filming, editing, sound design, and final composition. There is also scope to enrich the Media Arts culture beyond the classroom, supporting events, exhibitions, or trips, and to contribute occasionally to IB DP Film, depending on experience and departmental needs.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the teacher will act as a form tutor within the Secondary School (Years 7–13), supporting students academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

The Teacher of Visual Arts & Media Arts will plan and deliver engaging MYP units aligned with IB philosophy, ensuring progression in technical skill, conceptual understanding, and creative inquiry. Teaching will emphasise both creative process and technical proficiency, enabling students to develop confidence across a range of media and platforms.

The role includes assessing student learning using varied formative and summative strategies, providing constructive and timely feedback, and supporting students to reflect critically on their creative work. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues within the Arts faculty and across the Secondary School, contributing to curriculum development, moderation, and professional dialogue.

Beyond the classroom, the teacher will help foster a vibrant Media Arts culture, supporting enrichment activities, events, or trips that enhance students creative experiences and real-world engagement.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (such as a PGCE or equivalent). A minimum of five years relevant teaching experience is required. Experience teaching IB MYP Media Arts or a closely related subject is strongly preferred, as is the ability to teach confidently across the Secondary age range.

The school is seeking an educator with outstanding subject knowledge, excellent classroom practice, and a proven track record of high-quality teaching. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for exemplary teaching and learning, and a collaborative approach to working in an international school environment are essential.

Salary & Benefits

The school offers a competitive, experience-based salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Annual flights for the teacher and eligible dependents

  • Comprehensive international medical insurance (excluding the U.S.)

  • Housing and cost-of-living allowance

  • Relocation allowance

  • End-of-contract gratuity equivalent to 25% of annual base salary

  • All local tax obligations fully covered by the school
