Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate IBDP Biology Teacher who can also teach Integrated Sciences at the High School level (Grades 9-10, Pre-DP). The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage in scientific inquiry, develop critical thinking skills, and apply biological concepts to real-world challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach IBDP Biology at both Higher and Standard Levels, ensuring alignment with IB philosophy and assessment standards.
- Teach High School Integrated Sciences (Grades 9-10, Pre-DP), covering fundamental concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics.
- Guide students through the Internal Assessment (IA) and Extended Essay (EE) in Biology, supporting them in designing and conducting independent research projects.
- Use inquiry-based and practical lab approaches to foster hands-on scientific exploration and experimental skills.
- Integrate technology and data analysis tools to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary STEM projects and ensure continuity in the science curriculum.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular science-related activities, such as science fairs, environmental initiatives, or research clubs.
- Support university and career guidance efforts, particularly for students interested in life sciences, medicine, and environmental sciences.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years teaching IB Diploma Programme (DP) Biology and/or High School Science in an international curriculum (A-Level, AP, or equivalent).
- IB Expertise: Strong understanding of IB assessment criteria, Internal Assessment (IA), and Extended Essay (EE) supervision.
- Skills: Strong classroom management, laboratory safety expertise, and an ability to foster scientific curiosity.
- Preferred: Experience in teaching Integrated Sciences (Grades 9-10, Pre-DP) and incorporating technology and environmental science principles into teaching.
