Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate IBDP Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) Teacher who can also teach High School Mathematics (Pre-DP & Grades 9-10). The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and mathematical fluency while preparing them for the rigors of the IB Diploma Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach IBDP Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) at both Higher and Standard Levels, following IB curriculum and assessment standards.
- Teach High School Mathematics (Grades 9-10, Pre-DP), ensuring a strong foundation for students entering the IB Diploma Programme.
- Foster a deep understanding of mathematical principles, emphasizing critical thinking, real-world applications, and conceptual problem-solving.
- Guide students through the Internal Assessment (IA) and Extended Essay (EE) in Mathematics, providing structured support for research and investigation.
- Use technology and innovative teaching methodologies (e.g., Desmos, GeoGebra, CAS calculators) to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-disciplinary projects that connect mathematics with other subjects.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, such as Math Olympiads, coding clubs, and STEM competitions.
- Support students with university preparation, particularly those pursuing mathematics-intensive fields.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years teaching IB Diploma Programme (DP) Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) and/or High School Mathematics in an international curriculum (A-Level, AP, or equivalent).
- Ideally, understanding of IB assessment criteria, Internal Assessment (IA), and Extended Essay (EE) supervision.
- Skills: Strong classroom management, differentiation strategies, and a student-centered approach to mathematical instruction.
- Preferred: Experience integrating technology and real-world problem-solving into the mathematics curriculum.
