The curriculum blends the UK Early Years and National Curriculum frameworks in Primary with inquiry-based approaches. In Secondary, students follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and complete their studies through either the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career-related Programme (CP), developing into independent, globally-minded learners equipped for success at university and beyond.
The Role: Primary PE Teacher (Early Years Year 6)
We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and enthusiastic Primary PE Teacher to join the dynamic primary faculty of this outstanding international school in Jakarta. This is a key teaching role within the Primary School (Early Years Year 6), delivering a varied and engaging physical education programme to students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about physical education and committed to promoting health, fitness, and teamwork among young learners. You will play an essential role in developing motor skills, physical literacy, and a love for sport and active living, all within a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Curriculum Delivery & Classroom Teaching

Teach Physical Education across the Primary age range (Early Years Year 6), aligned with the UK National Curriculum and inquiry-based approaches

Design and deliver lessons that are inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and engaging

Develop units that foster fundamental movement skills, team games, individual sports, and personal fitness

Use a variety of instructional methods, including cooperative games and skill-building activities
-
Differentiate instruction to meet the physical development needs of all students
2. Event Coordination & Co-curricular Involvement

Plan and organise school-wide sports days, inter-house competitions, and fun fitness events

Coach or support extracurricular sports clubs and after-school activities
-
Promote student participation in sporting opportunities both within and outside the school

Encourage leadership, sportsmanship, and fair play in all physical activities
3. Collaboration & Professional Contribution

Contribute actively to the Primary team and cross-curricular initiatives

Participate in curriculum development and planning with colleagues

Support the integration of wellbeing and mindfulness in physical education

Engage in regular professional learning to enhance PE teaching and student outcomes
4. Student Growth & Wellbeing

Build strong, caring relationships with students to encourage confidence and participation

Provide formative feedback and track student progress in physical development

Support the social and emotional growth of students through inclusive practices
