Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Kindergarten to lead and oversee the operations of our kindergarten program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire both students and staff. This role is pivotal in shaping a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports the development of children aged [insert age range, e.g., 3-6 years].

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Provide visionary leadership and set the strategic direction for the kindergarten department.
  • Oversee the implementation and development of the kindergarten curriculum, ensuring alignment with school standards and values.
  • Manage and mentor a team of kindergarten teachers and support staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and professional development workshops to ensure best practices in early childhood education.

Teaching & Learning:

  • Ensure a child-centered approach to teaching and learning that promotes creativity, inquiry, and emotional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching practices and student progress to maintain high educational standards.
  • Collaborate with staff to design engaging and age-appropriate learning activities and assessments.

Parent & Community Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed and engaged in their child's educational journey.
  • Organize and lead parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and school events to foster a sense of community.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for parents regarding kindergarten operations and student concerns.

Operational Oversight:

  • Develop and manage the kindergarten timetable, staff schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by implementing and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments and senior leadership to align the kindergartens goals with the overall school strategy.

Qualifications

  • University degree (M.Sc) or equivalent, P h D S DEGREE HIGHLY PREFERRED;
  • Teacher Qualifications (M.Ed/PGCE/QTS), State License or equivalent;
  • Have at least five years teaching experience;
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively;
  • Must be eligible to work in China.
