In collaboration with an excellent international school located in Selangor, Malaysia, we are excited to present a unique career opportunity for the right candidates. The school provides education from Early Years to Pre-University, allowing students to enter university upon graduation. It follows the Australia-Victorian Curriculum, which is exclusive to the school. The curriculum emphasizes balance, with a mix of exam and coursework assessments to better prepare students for real-life applications. There is flexibility in subject choices, offering options for both specialized study and general education. The school offers the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) qualification, recognized by universities globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and rigorous lessons in humanities subjects, including history, literature, geography, and social studies, aligned with school curriculum standards.
- Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching methods that connect historical and cultural concepts to contemporary issues.
- Differentiation: Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with different learning styles and abilities.
- Assessment: Design and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and guide instructional decisions.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and personal growth.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, including other teachers, administrators, and support staff, to create interdisciplinary learning experiences and contribute to a collaborative school culture.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices, curriculum updates, and pedagogical strategies.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school events, contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, and support student activities outside the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in a humanities related field is required. A Masters degree or teaching certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is preferred. Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Full Teaching Qualification: PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, State License or equivalent.
