Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced IBDP Computer Science Teacher to join the faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching IB Diploma Programme (DP) Computer Science and may also contribute to the MYP Digital Design curriculum. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the IBDP Computer Science curriculum at both Higher and Standard Levels, ensuring alignment with IB teaching and assessment standards.
- Foster inquiry-based learning by engaging students in algorithmic thinking, programming, databases, and system design.
- Guide students through the Internal Assessment (IA) and Extended Essay (EE) in Computer Science, providing structured support for research projects.
- Integrate technology and hands-on projects to encourage problem-solving and computational creativity.
- Work collaboratively with the IB Coordinator and other faculty to continuously enhance the IB curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, such as coding clubs, robotics competitions, and STEM projects.
- Support university and career guidance efforts, helping students explore pathways in technology, computer science, and engineering.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience of teaching IB Diploma Programme (DP) Computer Science or equivalent international curricula.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, SQL, and experience with databases, networking, and web development in an educational setting.
- Ideally IB Experience: Strong understanding of the IB philosophy, Internal Assessment (IA), and Extended Essay (EE) supervision.
- Soft Skills: Excellent classroom management, collaboration skills, and a student-focused approach to teaching.
