Chemistry Teacher - Immediate Start (November 2024)

We are recruiting on behalf of an international school for a Chemistry Teacher who can also teach Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) within the IB framework. The successful candidate will have a passion for inquiry-based teaching, a commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment, and the flexibility to work within a collaborative educational community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Chemistry within the IB framework.
- Develop and deliver concept-based and inquiry-based lessons that align with IB philosophies and meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize educational tools and platforms, such as ManageBac, G Suite, and IB Questionbank, for lesson planning, student records, and assessments.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress, and produce required reports in a timely and organized manner.
- Actively contribute to school and department meetings, professional development, and in-service days.
- Support and prepare students for IB internal and external assessments, including project-based learning activities like the Extended Essay and Personal Project.
- Integrate service-learning (CAS) into teaching practices.
- Communicate openly and respectfully with students, parents, and colleagues, providing timely feedback on assessments and assignments.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, fostering a positive community culture.
Requirements:
- Ideally a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject area, with a strong background in Science and/or Environmental Systems.
- Experience teaching within the IB framework (preferred).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Demonstrated ethical behavior and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Benefits:
- Salary 52,000 - 54,000 euros per year.
