Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing PK2 Homeroom Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role involves teaching and guiding a class of two- to three-year-old children in a supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. The PK2 Homeroom Teacher will play a vital role in fostering young children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Environment: Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Curriculum Implementation: Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards. Engage children in activities that promote language, motor, social, and cognitive skills.
- Social and Emotional Development: Foster a positive social environment where children learn empathy, cooperation, and self-regulation. Guide children in understanding emotions, making friends, and resolving conflicts.
- Daily Routine Management: Maintain a structured yet flexible daily routine that balances active and quiet play, group activities, and individualized attention.
- Parent Communication: Establish regular communication with parents to discuss their childs progress, strengths, and any areas needing additional support. Provide updates through reports, meetings, and informal check-ins.
- Child Assessment and Progress Tracking: Observe and document each child's development, noting milestones and any concerns. Use assessments to inform instructional practices and adjust curriculum as needed.
- Classroom Safety and Hygiene: Ensure the classroom and all learning materials are clean, organized, and adhere to health and safety regulations. Maintain a sanitary environment, especially during snack times and personal care routines.
- Professional Development: Stay current with early childhood education practices and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching strategies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. An associate's degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with young children, particularly in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Certifications: Relevant teaching qualification/license PGCE, B.Ed, QTS, State Licence. Recognised National Qual. Not TEFL
