Situated in South West Jakarta, the campus offers outstanding facilities that support academic excellence, creativity, and wellbeing. The curriculum begins with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage, continues through the English National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning in Primary, and progresses into the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) in Secondary. Design and Technology are a core part of the schools commitment to innovation, sustainability, and real-world problem solving.
The Role
Following an increase in student enrolment, the school is seeking a Teacher of Design to join the Secondary faculty from August 2026. This role offers the opportunity to teach across a broad range of Design and Technology disciplines, including Product Design and Digital Design, ideally across both IB MYP and DP contexts.
The successful candidate will deliver inquiry- and concept-based learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. The role involves integrating design thinking, sustainability, and global contexts into the curriculum, while contributing to the ongoing development and alignment of the MYP and DP Design programmes.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the role includes acting as a form tutor within the Secondary School (Years 7–13), supporting students academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
The Teacher of Design will plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven lessons that develop students creative, technical, and analytical skills. Teaching will reflect IB philosophy and support students in applying design thinking to real-world challenges.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring the safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and materials within design studios and workshops. The teacher will maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations, conduct and review risk assessments, and promote best practice among students at all times.
The successful candidate will contribute to collaborative curriculum planning, supporting vertical alignment and progression across MYP and DP Design. They will work closely with colleagues within the Design Faculty and across the Secondary School, contributing to moderation, professional dialogue, and continuous improvement.
