We are recruiting for a highly regarded international school in Indonesia, located on an impressive 44-acre campus in the vibrant city of Jakarta. The school is a welcoming, inclusive community representing over 50 nationalities and providing education for students aged 2 to 18 years.

Situated in South West Jakarta, the campus offers outstanding facilities that support academic excellence, wellbeing, and student development. The school places strong emphasis on personalised pathways and informed post-school choices, supported by a comprehensive careers and university guidance programme.

The Role

Following an increase in student enrolment, the school is seeking an experienced University Guidance Counsellor to join the Secondary team from August 2026. This role plays a central part in supporting students and families as they navigate subject choices, post-16 and post-18 pathways, and global university applications.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised guidance to students across Years 7–13, ensuring they are well informed and confident when making decisions about their future education and careers. The role involves close collaboration with students, families, teachers, and senior leaders to ensure alignment between academic programmes and university aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

The University Guidance Counsellor will lead and contribute to the schools careers and university guidance programme, supporting students with subject selection, programme planning, and post-school decision-making. They will maintain up-to-date knowledge of global university systems and application requirements, with particular attention to UK, US, and IB pathways.

The role includes tracking, recording, and reporting on student university applications, offers, and destinations, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared with students, families, and relevant staff. The successful candidate will also build and sustain effective relationships with universities, professional bodies, and external organisations, representing the school at conferences, fairs, and other relevant events.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have a relevant degree and professional experience in university guidance, careers counselling, or a related educational role. A minimum of five years relevant experience is required. Strong familiarity with international university admissions systems, particularly UK and US applications and IB pathways, is essential.

The school is seeking a highly organised professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with students across the Secondary age range, and a commitment to supporting exemplary student outcomes. Enthusiasm, discretion, and a student-centred approach are key attributes for success in this role.
