Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated General Maintenance Worker to join our team. No experience? No problem! We offer on-the-job training. This role involves performing routine building maintenance tasks, inspecting buildings, and performing minor repairs in various trades including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
Job Duties:
- Perform routine building maintenance tasks (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
- Inspect buildings to determine functionality of systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs, making notes and recommendations.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance such as replacing or repairing fixtures, bulbs, sockets, and minor appliances.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance such as repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing drain hoses.
- Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work such as preparing surfaces and applying paints, stains, and varnishes.
- Perform general cleaning and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or GED with a certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.
- Basic understanding of facility-related systems and operations.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurable by agency insurance.
- Reliable transportation (truck preferred); must be able to travel to various work locations on demand.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints; able to work independently.
- Experience using standard powered and non-powered tools.
- Flexibility to perform overtime as needed.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and listening.
- Occasional sitting.
- Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
