We offer a variety of programs including residential support, day programs, employment assistance, early intervention, and behavior management.

Job Description: Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)? Join our team as a Community Support Professional. In this role, you will encourage community participation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships for the individuals we serve. Your efforts will directly contribute to their social integration and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage community participation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships/connections within the various communities of people served
  • Provide guidance and direction on social and judgement issues, health and safety issues, and other issues pertaining to activities of daily living and community integration of people served
  • Arrange transportation to and from various places/businesses in the community and events within the community
  • Maintain all documentation of services rendered (ex: summary should reflect progress, outcomes, dates services were provided, barriers with implementation, achievements, projected planning goals, and concerns)
  • Attend staff training and meetings as scheduled
  • Required completion of ECF program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of technical/para-professional experience working with individuals with IDD; an equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills.
  • Requirements: Reliable transportation, valid Alabama driver’s license, and ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking and listening.
  • Vision: Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
  • Sitting: Occasional sitting required.

Schedule:

  • Work Schedule: Full-time and Part-time: 8 am-4 pm; Every other weekend
