We offer a variety of programs including residential support, day programs, employment assistance, early intervention, and behavior management.

Job Description: Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)? Join our team as a Community Support Professional. In this role, you will encourage community participation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships for the individuals we serve. Your efforts will directly contribute to their social integration and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Participation: Encourage community participation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships for individuals served.
  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance on social judgment, health and safety, and daily living activities to support community integration.
  • Transportation: Arrange transportation to and from community outings.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of services rendered, reflecting progress, outcomes, and goals.
  • Training and Meetings: Attend staff training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of technical/para-professional experience working with individuals with IDD; an equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills.
  • Requirements: Reliable transportation, valid Alabama driver’s license, and ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking and listening.
  • Vision: Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
  • Sitting: Occasional sitting required.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
