Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. This role involves both overseeing and performing routine building maintenance tasks, inspecting buildings, and performing minor repairs in various trades including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. The job will require being on-call for emergencies with the possibility of working outside normal business hours based on operational necessity.

Job Duties:

Maintenance Coordination

  • Routine Inspections: Regularly inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues or potential problems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Quickly respond to and resolve any urgent maintenance issues to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Safety and Compliance

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect employees and those we serve.
  • Security Measures: Maintain and upgrade security systems to safeguard the facility.

Team Management

  • Staff Supervision: Train and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools.
  • Task Delegation: Assign tasks to team members based on their expertise and availability.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks, such as major repairs or overhauls.

Facility Upkeep

  • Cleanliness: Ensure all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained, including offices, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Landscaping: Oversee the maintenance of outdoor areas, such as lawns, gardens, and parking lots.
  • Space Management: Optimize the use of space within the facility to support operational efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Two-year college degree or completion of trade school; or equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, including experience using standard powered and non-powered tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and management.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and insurable by agency insurance.
  • Flexibility to perform overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and listening.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
