About the job Materials Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Research and develop new materials or improve existing ones to meet specific requirements.
- Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the properties of materials, such as strength, durability, and thermal properties.
- Analyze data and interpret results to make recommendations for material selection or process improvement.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure that materials meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
- Stay current with advancements in materials science and technology to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Provide technical support and expertise to resolve materials-related issues in production or product performance.
- Participate in the selection of suppliers and materials sourcing activities.
- Document research findings, test results, and material specifications in reports and technical documents.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all aspects of materials testing and experimentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of materials science principles, including structure-property relationships and material characterization techniques.
- Proficiency in materials testing methods, such as mechanical testing, spectroscopy, microscopy, and thermal analysis.
