About the job Materials Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new materials or improve existing ones to meet specific requirements.
  • Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the properties of materials, such as strength, durability, and thermal properties.
  • Analyze data and interpret results to make recommendations for material selection or process improvement.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure that materials meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Stay current with advancements in materials science and technology to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to resolve materials-related issues in production or product performance.
  • Participate in the selection of suppliers and materials sourcing activities.
  • Document research findings, test results, and material specifications in reports and technical documents.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all aspects of materials testing and experimentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of materials science principles, including structure-property relationships and material characterization techniques.
  • Proficiency in materials testing methods, such as mechanical testing, spectroscopy, microscopy, and thermal analysis.
