The SMS Gatekeeper oversees and ensures the effective operation of the Safety Management System, guiding the organization in enhancing safety awareness and compliance. Through diligent monitoring, they contribute significantly to safeguarding the organization's reputation by fostering a safety-conscious culture.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Evaluate flight data and compare with ARAJET SOPs for compliance.
  • Generate alerts for non-compliance and notify corresponding departments
  • Identify and assess data on the FOQA platform, comparing it with established SOPs
  • Issue recommendations to Operations for continuous improvement of organizational manuals
  • Follow FDM manual procedures, implementing improvements based on FOQA analysis.
  • Provide support to the SMS department in LOSA audits.
  • Develop defenses to contain and mitigate dangers from FOQA evaluations.
  • Conduct interviews with pilots involved in FOQA-marked events or operational safety reports.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of safety management principles and practices
  • Communicate safety-related information clearly to various teams and stakeholders.
  • Display leadership skills to influence and promote a safety-oriented culture.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations proficiently.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address safety risks.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Utilize technical skills related to the operation and maintenance of organizational systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with emergency response planning.
  • Active participation in safety-related drills and exercises.
  • Functions and Responsibilities in relation to SMS are:
  • Comply with the Policies, Objectives and Requirements of the Operational Safety Management System,
  • Actively participate in the Operational Safety Reporting System,
  • Inform the Operational Safety and Risk Management of the dangers, accidents, incidents, unsafe acts, violations, deviations and unsafe conditions that are generated in the operation and maintenance work.
  • Address and establish action plans to close non-conformities generated during the different audits scheduled by internal auditors.
  • Receive, read and understand the information provided by Operational Safety and act in accordance with the given guidelines.
  • Attend and approve the Operational Safety Instruction.
  • Receive and answer the Operational Safety surveys designed by the Operational Safety and Risk Management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Safety, or a related discipline.
    Relevant certifications or licenses related to the industry and safety management.
