About the job Outstation Manager
The Outstation Manager establishes, monitors, and enhances operational standards for Ground Operations across all outstations, ensuring compliance with commercial requirements and regulations. They oversee daily performance metrics, stakeholder collaboration, and efficient airport service procedures, contributing to safe, customer-focused ground and ramp operations, while supporting the Vice President of Airports in driving strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives for revenue growth and return on investment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety and Security Compliance
- Responsible for enforcing and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols, security measures, and regulatory requirements established by aviation authorities. Works closely with relevant agencies, law enforcement, and security personnel to implement and enhance security procedures.
Leadership Management
- Responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of airport operations to ensure efficient and seamless performance. This includes managing daily terminal operations, airside activities, baggage handling, ground transportation, and airport facilities. Continuously monitors operations to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or issues that may impact airport performance and the passenger experience.
Customer Service Excellence
- Ensures exceptional customer service standards are maintained across airport operations. Responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to enhance the passenger experience, including training staff on customer service standards, resolving customer complaints, and identifying opportunities for service improvement.
Stakeholder and Team Management
- Responsible for fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders, including airlines, ground handling companies, concessionaires, and regulatory bodies. Collaborates with these partners to optimize airport operations and address shared challenges.
Leads and manages a diverse team of airport personnel, including supervisors and third-party frontline staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to perform their responsibilities efficiently.
Regulations and Other Responsibilities
Ensures compliance within their area and across Arajet with applicable policies and regulations to protect the company from high-risk audit findings, regulatory non-compliance, and financial exposure.
Ensures that route launch and operational processes are executed in compliance with legal requirements across the different jurisdictions involved.
Ensures that the establishment of branches, subsidiaries, or related entities required for route operations complies with the legal requirements of the relevant jurisdictions.
Safety Management System (SMS) Responsibilities
Supports and complies with the policies, objectives, and requirements of the Safety Management System.
Actively participates in the operational safety reporting system.
Promotes hazard identification and proactive safety reporting, and designs and implements mitigation, corrective, or preventive actions as required to maintain operational safety.
Ensures their team completes safety surveys and implements corrective actions to address identified hazards.
Ensures that third parties under their responsibility working at Arajet S.A. facilities and/or directly involved in aircraft operations and airworthiness understand how the SMS operates.
Addresses and establishes action plans to close non-conformities identified during internal audits.
Reports to the Safety and Risk Management Department any changes within Arajet S.A. that may affect processes, procedures, operations, or maintenance activities. Additionally, identifies hazards, manages associated risks, and eliminates outdated risk controls.
Participates in operational safety training.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree, with at least 5 years of experience in the aviation industry with an airline and/or air traffic control in a managerial position
Communication / Accountability / Resilience / Confidence / Proactivity
Knowledge of basic airport safety and security procedures and regulations
Proficient in ground handling systems and Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel)
Advanced level of English
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in project management and planning is an asset
