About the job HUB Facility Coordinator
The HUB Facility Coordinator (HFC) is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of airport facilities and the overall operational management at Arajet's HUBs.
The position serves as the management layer between the IOCC and the Hub Control Center (HCC) of each ground handling provider. The HFC takes control of the HUB operation and translates IOCC decisions into operational directives for the provider's HCC, which in turn coordinates internally the departments involved (Passenger Service, Operations, AVSEC, and Ramp). The HFC does not replace the provider's HCC but directs its operation.
The HFC's main focus is to secure, plan, and optimize the airport facilities used by Arajet —aircraft stands, boarding bridges, gates, counters, and baggage systems—; direct and monitor the providers' HCCs to ensure turnaround, connectivity, and punctuality targets are met; and manage the relationship with the airport operator and the authorities involved in the operation (Migration, Customs, Airport Security, ATC, among others), always in accordance with Arajet's Safety, Security, and SMS policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Airport Facilities Management:
Secure, plan and optimize with the airport operator the allocation of the facilities used by Arajet (aircraft stands, boarding bridges, gates, counters and baggage systems), prioritizing high-connectivity, high-load and PRM flights and anticipating capacity needs.
Monitor the availability and condition of the facilities in real time, requesting reallocations and following up every failure with the airport operator until it is resolved.
Airport Operator and Authorities Management:
Act as Arajet's operational counterpart before the airport operator and the authorities (Migration, Customs, Airport Security, ATC, among others), coordinating passenger, crew and baggage flows and ground movement matters, in line with the IOCC.
Lead the coordination with the authorities during irregular operations, security events and contingencies, and represent Arajet in the airport operational committees.
Direction of the Provider HCCs:
Direct the operation of each provider's HCC through the shift directives (facility plan, priority and short-connection flights, IOCC decisions), leaving to the HCC the internal coordination of Passenger Service, Operations, AVSEC, and Ramp.
Monitor through the HCCs the turnaround performance and connectivity, requesting corrective actions.
IOCC Interface and Irregular Operations:
Act as Arajet's single point of contact between the IOCC and the provider HCCs, translating IOCC decisions into HUB directives and providing the information needed for network decisions, which remain with the IOCC.
Lead the HUB response to irregular operations and facility contingencies, coordinating the provider HCCs, the airport operator and the authorities.
Cost Control and Performance:
Authorize on behalf of Arajet any GSE or extra service beyond Arajet's GSE standards, and reconcile the daily service orders against the actual use.
Track the HUB KPIs (OTP, TAT, connectivity, baggage, facility utilization and incidents), report daily to the Regional HUB Manager and lead improvement actions with the providers and the airport operator.
Safety, Security and Compliance:
Promote compliance with the GOM, SOPs and Info-Notes at the HUB, and report immediately any accident, incident, hazard or unsafe condition according to the SMS.
Keep directives, logs and reports complete and traceable for audits and investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and operational experience may be accepted.
Minimum 2 years of experience in airline ground operations, airport operations, hub or operations control, including coordination with airport operators, airport authorities (Migration, Customs, Airport Security, ATC) and ground handling providers.
Solid knowledge of airport infrastructure and facilities (stands, boarding bridges, baggage handling systems, terminal resources) and of their allocation processes.
Solid knowledge of turnaround processes, Gantt, minimum connecting times, baggage connection, GSE and IATA delay codes.
Knowledge of ground handling contracts and service level agreements (SLA), of airport safety and security regulations, and of the border control and ATC processes that affect the ground operation.
Preferably, proficiency in DCS (Airline Choice), operational and reporting tools (AIMS, Power BI, PIANETIDC) and Microsoft Office suite (Advanced Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills; advanced English language proficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Completion of the Ground Operations training required for the role (ARA-MAN-GRH-601), including SMS, security awareness and Dangerous Goods familiarization.
