A fast-growing company in the energy-tech sector is looking for a DevOps Engineer / Lead to join their hands-on R&D team. We develop AI-driven cloud platforms for infrastructure management and operate across Israel, Europe, and North America. This role is based in the Jerusalem area, and includes hybrid flexibility for strong candidates from central Israel. Wed develop software for energy and power quality management.

About the Role

You will take full ownership of the cloud infrastructure and DevOps operations, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. You'll collaborate with software teams to build robust CI/CD processes, manage Azure infrastructure, and support smart optimization of cloud spend.

Responsibilities

  • Design, automate, and operate Azure cloud services (VMs, AKS, App Service, Functions)

  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)

  • Optimize infrastructure costs and implement FinOps best practices

  • Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, compliant, and resilient

  • Manage relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D and product teams

  • Mentor junior engineers where relevant

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of DevOps experience in cloud-native environments

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, networking, and security

  • Solid understanding of FinOps concepts and tools (cost monitoring, budget control)

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)

  • Hands-on CI/CD pipeline development experience

  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as ELK, Grafana

  • Database administration experience (PostgreSQL, MSSQL)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP)

  • Exposure to big data orchestration tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow, Trino)

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR)

  • Previous work in smart infrastructure / energy management sectors

  • Experience in energy or power quality is a strong advantage

Location & Work Style

  • Office located in the entrance to Jerusalem accessible from central Israel

  • Hybrid flexibility is available; must be able to work onsite multiple times per week
