Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Automation Engineer with expert-level proficiency in Ansible to lead a strategic migration project. The ideal candidate will play a key role in transitioning our infrastructure automation framework from RightScale to GitHub Actions (GHA), leveraging Ansible and other cutting-edge technologies to ensure a seamless migration. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and configuration management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a migration plan to transition from RightScale to GitHub Actions (GHA) using infrastructure automation and configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Convert existing RightScale scripts into reusable, modular Ansible roles to enhance automation and maintain consistency across environments.
- Create and maintain GHA workflows to automate application and infrastructure deployment processes.
- Design efficient, cost-effective, and scalable solutions on GCP, leveraging a deep understanding of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
- Write and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform to provision, optimize, and manage GCP resources while ensuring security and performance compliance.
- Integrate GCP services, Ansible, and GitHub Actions into a cohesive migration framework, ensuring seamless interoperability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and align activities with overall project goals.
- Identify and address technical challenges by leveraging expertise and data-driven insights to propose and implement effective solutions.
- Document infrastructure designs, migration strategies, and automation workflows to support ongoing operations and future enhancements.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (preferably GCP).
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including networking, storage, compute, and security.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Scripting expertise in Python and Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
