About the assignment
Our client is a Nordic and US-based steel company that builds a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world through value added steel products and services. The Technical Project Manager – Electrical Buildings is responsible for the technical coordination, planning, design follow-up, construction support, and handover of all electrical buildings within the project.
Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate all technical activities related to Electrical Buildings.
- Ensure interfaces between Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire Protection and Telecom disciplines are properly managed.
- Coordinate design reviews and technical decisions affecting electrical buildings.
- Follow up building layouts, equipment arrangements, constructability, maintainability, and access requirements.
- Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Review engineering deliverables and ensure design maturity.
- Monitor progress of design activities performed by consultants and suppliers.
- Identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable project requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Support construction planning and sequencing.
- Coordinate building readiness for electrical installation activities.
- Follow progress of contractors and suppliers.
- Participate in site inspections, technical walkdowns, and quality reviews.
- Support resolution of site technical issues and engineering clarifications.
- Act as technical focal point for PMC, engineering and contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Coordinate technical alignment meetings and follow up actions.
- Support decision-making and issue resolution across disciplines.
- Communicate status, risks, and technical concerns to project management and stakeholders.
- Ensure buildings are ready for energization and commissioning.
- Support punch-list management and close-out activities.
- Coordinate handover documentation and turnover packages.
- Support commissioning teams during testing, energization, and start-up phases.
Requirements
Mandatory
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering projects.
Proven experience in large industrial, infrastructure, power, energy, mining, or steel projects.
Experience with: HV/MV/LV substations.
Experience with: Electrical buildings and E-houses.
Experience with: Industrial power distribution systems.
Experience with: EPC/EPCM project execution models.
Experience with: Multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
Experience with: Construction and commissioning support.
Good understanding of: Power distribution systems.
Good understanding of: Transformers.
Good understanding of: MV/LV switchgear.
Good understanding of: Earthing and lightning protection systems.
Good understanding of: Electrical room layouts and equipment installation requirements.
Good understanding of: Cable routing and cable entry systems.
Good understanding of: Building grounding and bonding systems.
Good understanding of: HVAC systems for electrical rooms.
Good understanding of: Fire detection and fire protection systems.
Good understanding of: Industrial telecom and security systems.
Good understanding of: Building services supporting electrical installations.
Nice-to-have
Experience from steel, mining, energy, power transmission, or other heavy industrial projects.
Familiarity with Swedish engineering practices, authority requirements, and permitting processes.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience applying Swedish and European standards, regulations, and industry practices related to industrial electrical installations and electrical buildings.
Commissioning and energization experience for industrial electrical systems.
Experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces in large EPC/EPCM projects.
