Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable AZ Driver to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods across various locations, ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. This role requires a valid AZ driver's license, a clean driving record, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation: Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to transport goods to designated locations within Canada and potentially cross-border into the United States.
- Compliance: Adhere to all transportation laws and regulations, including hours of service, weight restrictions, and hazardous materials handling as applicable.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logbooks, bills of lading, and any other required documentation.
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional and courteous service to clients during pick-ups and deliveries, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols, including the proper securing of loads, and report any incidents or accidents immediately.
Qualifications:
- License: Valid AZ driver's license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating commercial vehicles; experience with long-haul routes is an asset.
- Driving Record: Clean driving abstract with no major violations.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items, and sit for extended periods.
- Certifications: Completion of a recognized driver training program is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Cross-Border Capability: Ability to travel to the United States; possession of a valid passport or necessary documentation is required.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing as per company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Flexibility: Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
