Job Description:
As a Paint Technician, you will oversee the entire painting process for vehicles, ensuring each job meets or exceeds company standards. From surface preparation to the final inspection, youll apply your technical knowledge and creativity to achieve perfect finishes. Your responsibilities include diagnosing defects, mixing paint to exact specifications, and performing repairs to the vehicles body before painting. Youll also be responsible for reassembling parts post-painting and ensuring quality control throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine Vehicle Surfaces: Inspect and assess vehicles to identify areas requiring repair and preparation for painting.
- Prepare Surfaces for Painting: Properly prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, and masking to ensure a smooth and well-prepared surface.
- Provide Price Estimates: Provide customers with accurate price estimates based on the scope of work required.
- Order and Mix Paint: Order the correct paint and materials, mix paints, and prepare substances to match OEM specifications.
- Diagnose and Repair Defects: Diagnose and repair automotive body damage and paint defects before applying paint.
- Apply Paint: Use airbrushes, spray guns, and other specialized tools to apply paint, ensuring consistent and smooth coverage.
- Reassemble and Inspect: Reassemble body components after painting and perform thorough quality inspections to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Maintain Equipment: Keep paint booths, spray guns, and painting tools in good working condition.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of new techniques and technologies in the painting industry to apply the latest methods to improve results.
Requirements:
Experience & Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience as a Paint Technician or in a similar automotive painting role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive paints, finishes, and painting techniques.
- Expertise in mixing paint to match OEM specifications and applying it using spray guns, airbrushes, and other specialized tools.
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing automotive body damage and paint defects.
- Proficient in surface preparation techniques such as sanding, filling, and masking.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to kneel, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Good color vision and attention to detail, especially when working with intricate paint finishes.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for working with clients and collaborating with the team.
