Overview
Our client, a leading Fortune 200 energy and utilities company, is seeking an experienced IT Project/Program Manager to provide formalized leadership and work direction to assigned teams while ensuring timely and effective project execution. This role involves planning and directing the installation of Information Technology projects that typically impact multiple business areas, with a focus on delivering IT capabilities and solutions aligned with enterprise objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide formalized leadership and continuing work direction to assigned teams, ensuring timely and effective project execution
- Plan and direct IT project installations across multiple business areas, ensuring alignment with business needs and technology strategies
- Lead and coordinate technology projects with business partners to deliver enterprise-aligned IT capabilities and solutions
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Secure required resources and utilize formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes
- Manage stakeholder relationships and provide executive-level project oversight
- Lead continuous improvement of IT governance frameworks
- Oversee M365 implementations including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform
- Ensure successful execution of project roadmaps while mitigating risks and optimizing resources
- Conduct design sessions with business unit stakeholders to develop draft product requirements
- Partner with engineering, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Monitor project performance through KPIs and prepare executive reports and presentations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 6-10 years of experience leading IT projects and managing cross-functional teams
- Experience overseeing technical implementations across multiple business areas
- Strong understanding of project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Experience leading M365 implementations (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform)
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based collaboration tools and enterprise IT infrastructure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an analytical or technical field
- Experience in Agile project management methodologies
- Background in IT governance, financial forecasting, and strategic planning
- Proficiency in data analysis and data visualization tools
- Understanding of data technologies, data modeling, and ETL processes
- Experience with CI/CD workflows and technical architecture considerations
- Product management experience with focus on user research and prototype testing
Work Environment
This is a standard shift position (8 AM - 5 PM) within the energy sector, offering the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale technology initiatives that support critical infrastructure operations.
