Overview
Our client is a leading, Fortune 200 energy infrastructure company seeking an experienced Project Management Consultant to join a critical construction initiative. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing complex projects within regulated, capital-intensive environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project deliverables are met on time, within scope, and on budget, directly contributing to the success of a major national energy program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day project management activities for large-scale energy construction projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, facilitating clear communication between engineering, construction, procurement, and leadership teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to milestones and financial targets.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project status reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project change control processes and assess the impact of scope modifications.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of direct project management experience, specifically within energy, utilities, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $10M.
- Strong proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent understanding of project lifecycle methodologies and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- This is an on-site position and requires daily presence at the project location.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred. PMP or similar certification is a strong plus.
