Overview

Our client is a leading global developer of utility-scale renewable energy projects. They are seeking an experienced Commissioning Supervisor to act as the Owner's representative on one of the world's largest solar PV developments. This is a high-impact contract role for a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in utility-scale solar commissioning and project oversight.

You will be responsible for managing the entire commissioning lifecycle for a major solar facility, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are met while overseeing EPC contractors and OEMs. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring extensive travel and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Owner's representative to oversee EPC contractors and OEMs on a turnkey utility-scale solar PV project
  • Manage and report on construction turnover, pre-energization, commissioning, and performance testing activities
  • Oversee subcontractor delivery, installation quality, plant testing, and startup of solar PV power systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality control standards, and project specifications
  • Coordinate and witness ISO/GIA/PPA testing and performance validation
  • Manage site work, installation, status reporting, and project close-out documentation
  • Provide remote support for SCADA monitoring and commission portfolio management
  • Interface with project stakeholders including Senior Project Management

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in utility-scale solar PV commissioning and project management
  • Proven experience on multiple large-scale solar projects (50MW+ minimum)
  • Strong technical knowledge of PV inverter systems, MV collection systems, and substation interfaces
  • Expertise in SCADA/plant controls and performance testing protocols
  • Experience overseeing EPC contractors as an Owner's representative
  • Ability to travel up to 75% and work on-site at project locations
  • Engineering degree or professional electrical career background preferred
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
