Scrum Master - Federal Government Technology Programs
Location: Kansas City, MO 64108
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension & FTE Conversion Possible)
Compensation: depending on experience
Overview of the Role
Join one of the nation's most critical financial institutions as a Scrum Master supporting a high-impact federal technology program. You'll lead Agile ceremonies, drive sprint execution, and enable cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that protect and strengthen our nation's economic systems. This is a unique opportunity to work on meaningful government technology initiatives with potential for extension and permanent conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Enact Agile/Scrum principles as Scrum Master on complex technology programs in partnership with development teams, Product Owners, and project leadership
- Guide teams in prioritizing work based on customer requirements, project schedules, and dependencies
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning
- Maintain roadmaps, milestones, risks, and deadlines while proactively communicating progress to stakeholders
- Work with stakeholders to identify, develop, and maintain key program metrics
- Brainstorm with teams to generate solutions that address challenges and deliver customer value
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with senior executives and project sponsors
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record supporting complex technology projects
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts
- Motivated, organized self-starter with strong attention to detail
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident with 3+ years US residency required
Preferred:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or related certifications
- Agile/Scrum experience in government or financial services
- Experience with federal program metrics and reporting
