๐ Overview of the Role
Join a Fortune 200 clean energy leader as a Senior PLC/SCADA Engineer specializing in utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems. You'll be at the forefront of the energy transition, programming control systems, developing SCADA applications, and ensuring grid-scale storage projects perform flawlessly from FAT through commissioning.
๐ผ Key Responsibilities
- Program PLCs on Schneider Electric platforms for utility-scale BESS and renewable energy projects
- Develop Ignition SCADA platform applications and HMI interfaces for power systems monitoring
- Implement Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols for system integration
- Support FAT/SAT testing procedures and on-site commissioning (up to 25% travel)
- Ensure full accountability for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion
- Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, applying best practices throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical oversight ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals
โ Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 11+ years of experience in PLC programming, preferably Schneider Electric platforms
- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols
- Experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale energy projects
- Experience with FAT/SAT testing procedures and commissioning protocols
- Ability to travel up to 25% for project commissioning support
Preferred:
- PE certification
- Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness
