Job Description:

As the Transmission Line Principal Engineer, you will oversee the design management of transmission generation tie lines for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage projects, as well as standalone transmission line initiatives. From early-stage conceptualization through construction and commissioning, you will collaborate with engineering consultants, manage project scope, and ensure adherence to technical standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to secure engineering resources and permits necessary for project execution.
  • Develop project scopes, evaluate bids and award contracts for engineering services.
  • Prepare and oversee the delivery of engineering deliverables and documentation throughout project phases.
  • Act as a technical advisor, providing insights into value engineering and ensuring design quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HV transmission line development, design, and construction.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as PLSCADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Willingness to travel within North America as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and software (e.g., Primavera).
  • Familiarity with renewable energy projects and associated regulatory requirements.
