Position Overview

Are you passionate about applying mathematical optimization and Monte Carlo simulation to solve real-world supply chain challenges? Our client is seeking an Operations Research Data Scientist to join their dynamic Pricing and Analytics team. In this cross-functional role, you'll leverage your expertise to build software tools that optimize inventory and reduce operational risk within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build simulation and optimization models to solve constantly evolving supply chain problems
  • Develop decision-support tools that impact supply chain strategy in partnership with software engineers and data engineers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to improve operational efficiency and profitability
  • Help support and maintain existing models and tools owned by the team
  • Assist with data-pipelining in preparation for modeling

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of industry experience building mixed integer programming models and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Experience with optimization algebraic modeling languages (e.g., Pyomo or AMPL)
  • Knowledge of optimization solvers (e.g., Gurobi, CBC, CPLEX, Xpress, GAMS)
  • BA/BS in a STEM field operations research, industrial engineering, or management science preferred
  • Strong mathematical optimization skills, including mixed integer programming and linear programming
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
