Position Overview
Are you passionate about applying mathematical optimization and Monte Carlo simulation to solve real-world supply chain challenges? Our client is seeking an Operations Research Data Scientist to join their dynamic Pricing and Analytics team. In this cross-functional role, you'll leverage your expertise to build software tools that optimize inventory and reduce operational risk within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Build simulation and optimization models to solve constantly evolving supply chain problems
- Develop decision-support tools that impact supply chain strategy in partnership with software engineers and data engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to improve operational efficiency and profitability
- Help support and maintain existing models and tools owned by the team
- Assist with data-pipelining in preparation for modeling
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of industry experience building mixed integer programming models and Monte Carlo simulations
- Proficiency in R and/or Python
- Experience with optimization algebraic modeling languages (e.g., Pyomo or AMPL)
- Knowledge of optimization solvers (e.g., Gurobi, CBC, CPLEX, Xpress, GAMS)
- BA/BS in a STEM field operations research, industrial engineering, or management science preferred
- Strong mathematical optimization skills, including mixed integer programming and linear programming
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
