Preconstruction Project Manager

Overview of the Role:
Join our client's dynamic Engineering & Construction team and play a pivotal role in advancing utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from conception to construction readiness. This position offers the opportunity to coordinate complex, high-impact renewable energy projects that are shaping the future of sustainable power generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily project activities across Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction teams
  • Manage critical coordination of highly matrixed project development teams
  • Develop and optimize project technical scope to improve feasibility
  • Support PPA and GIA negotiations with origination teams
  • Present financial models to business units and manage executive budget approvals
  • Competitively source and negotiate commercial contracts for critical services
  • Ensure seamless project handover to Construction Project Managers

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience with renewable energy projects, particularly battery storage systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication, financial, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interface with executive leadership and various stakeholders
