Job Overview:
Our client, a pioneer in the renewable energy sector, seeks an experienced and innovative Lead Project Estimator to join their Estimating Group within the Engineering & Construction Division. This role is instrumental in designing, planning, and budgeting a diverse portfolio of projects, including wind, solar, substation, transmission, and more.
You will be a vital contributor to advancing clean and reliable power solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving cost-effective project estimates. This is an opportunity to play a leadership role in shaping the future of renewable energy while mentoring a talented team and expanding your expertise across cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive capital expenditure (CapEx) models, including engineering, materials, and construction costs.
- Prepare and lead detailed project estimates and pricing models for renewable and high-voltage transmission projects.
- Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest innovative alternatives.
- Collaborate across departments to align project objectives and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Establish metrics for cost analysis and construction estimate checks.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate market conditions into estimates.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Support the evaluation of new technological innovations in the industry.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management.
- 10+ years of experience in estimating, particularly in renewable or transmission projects.
- 5+ years of field experience.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and renewable energy infrastructure.
