Overview
Our client is a leading force in the North American energy sector, driving the transition to sustainable power. We are looking for a seasoned Construction Manager to act as the owner's representative and lead the on-site execution of a critical utility-scale solar project from Notice-to-Proceed through to Commercial Operation Date. You will be the primary point of contact for the EPC contractor, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
This is a high-visibility role requiring strong leadership, impeccable communication, and a deep understanding of complex construction projects in the power generation space.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site owner's representative and main point of contact for EPC contractors.
- Provide full oversight of construction execution, ensuring contractor compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Review project agreements, contracts, permits, and plans to verify compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor and report on project safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
- Coordinate with development teams to ensure a smooth transition from planning to execution phase.
- Verify scheduling, delivery, and inventory of owner-furnished materials.
- Lead regular site meetings, prepare detailed progress reports, and manage project documentation.
- Identify potential risks, delays, or cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of safety and quality excellence among all on-site personnel.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive construction management experience, with a proven track record in utility-scale energy projects (solar, wind, power generation, or transmission/substation).
- Demonstrated experience acting as an Owner's Representative or in a similar client-side construction management role.
- Extensive experience managing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols (OSHA), quality control/assurance, and building codes.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting construction drawings, contracts, and permits.
- Excellent skills in schedule management (Primavera P6/MS Project), budgeting, and cost control.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to be on-site daily in Juno Beach, FL, for the duration of the contract.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
