Overview
Our client is a leading force in the North American energy sector, committed to innovation, reliability, and sustainable power generation. We are seeking a motivated Associate Engineer to support engineering projects ranging from limited scope assignments to more complex initiatives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to multiple engineering disciplines while contributing to the operation and development of critical energy assets, including solar, battery storage (BESS), and conventional power plants.
You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, with increasing independence as you demonstrate capability. This position is perfect for a recent graduate or an engineer with up to five years of experience looking to build a strong foundation in the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering assignments of varying scope and complexity, supporting projects in electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, or I&C disciplines as needed.
- Assist with project management activities, including performance tracking, reporting, and coordination between teams.
- Ensure engineering designs and project activities comply with relevant standards, specifications, and safety protocols (e.g., ASME, NERC).
- Conduct technical analysis and utilize computational tools to support design validation and problem-solving.
- Act as an extension of the core engineering team, reviewing designs for long-term performance, reliability, and adherence to project goals.
- Support utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power plant operations through engineering oversight and technical assistance.
- Engage in decision-making processes and contribute to technical discussions and planning sessions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
- Experience: 0-5 years of relevant engineering experience. Recent graduates with relevant internships or co-ops are encouraged to apply.
- Will own Onboarding process for New Sites (Includes Technical and Administrative tasks)
- Preferences:
- Knowledge of Renewables technology
- Knowledge of controls and/or alarm management
- Understanding of Quality ( Six Sigma) - Industry Knowledge: Interest in or exposure to the energy sector, renewable technologies, or power generation is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication, ability to work in a team environment, and a keen attention to detail.
- Logistics: Must be able to work on-site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, for the duration of the contract.
