Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Payroll & Labor Compliance Auditor to support labor compliance across renewable energy projects. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to prevailing wage laws, apprenticeship requirements, and project-specific contractual obligations, including those tied to Inflation Reduction Act initiatives.

This is a high-visibility role responsible for auditing contractor-submitted data, validating certified payroll, and serving as a key point of contact for compliance-related matters. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in payroll auditing, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit contractor-submitted data related to prevailing wage and apprenticeship compliance
  • Review certified payroll reports to verify wage rates, fringe benefit contributions, and labor classifications
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and project-specific requirements, including tax credit and contract stipulations
  • Identify discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and document findings with clear corrective action recommendations
  • Prepare and present detailed audit reports to internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Maintain and update compliance dashboards, tracking project-level audit status and key metrics
  • Facilitate recurring meetings to communicate audit progress, risks, and compliance status
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for labor compliance inquiries across assigned projects
  • Gather, organize, and maintain certified payroll and supporting documentation for audit readiness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams, contractors, and compliance stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in payroll administration, auditing, or labor compliance
  • Experience with prevailing wage laws, apprenticeship requirements, or Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) compliance strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with certified payroll processes and documentation
  • Familiarity with LCP Tracker (LPC Tracker) or similar compliance tracking systems preferred
