Overview:
Our client, a leading Fortune 200 energy and utilities company, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager - Level 4 - Lead to coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and vendors at project sites. This senior-level position requires 15+ years of experience and serves as a critical bridge between field operations and customer leadership, ensuring construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at project sites
  • Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on projects
  • Manage walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements
  • Approve contractor payment requests and verify constructability
  • Ensure proper resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed
  • Maintain scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, schedules, and work in progress
  • Ensure Construction Supervisors are effectively implementing assignments and obtaining desired results
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce
  • Communicate departmental, station, and division goals and validate each performer's ability to impact those goals
  • Address logistical challenges, resolve conflicts, and ensure construction activities stay on track
  • Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices
  • Provide coaching, direction and corrective action as needed
  • Define strategic commissioning frameworks and corporate-wide standards
  • Manage enterprise-level commissioning projects and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee long-term planning and high-value contractual agreements
  • Act as a key advisor for executive leadership on commissioning and operations strategy
  • Drive innovation and process optimization across multiple project sites

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities
  • Experience with safety, health, and environmental practices in construction settings
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with budget oversight and performance reporting
