About the job Director of Surgical Services
Position Summary:
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for directing the department's activities and resources to achieve both departmental and organizational objectives. This is a leadership position that ensures the delivery of patient care at the highest standards, utilizing the skills and expertise of an experienced Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee 9 Operating Rooms (OR) and 2 Endoscopy Suites in the main hospital, as well as 4 OR and 2 Endoscopy suites at the outpatient surgery center.
- Provide direct supervision to 3 Managers within the department.
- Manage a total of 60 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in the main hospital and 25 FTE staff in the Outpatient Surgery Center.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards related to surgical services.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for the department.
- Manage departmental budget and resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years' experience managing 15+ OR suites and at least 3 years as a director of OR in a critical care hospital
- Certification: ACLS required upon hire
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
