About the job Head of QA and Food Safety

Our client in the retail industry is looking for a QA and Food Safety leader to ensure product quality, food safety compliance, and operational excellence across stores, warehouses, and suppliers. The role includes audits, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination to maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards for all product categories (Fresh,
Frozen, Grocery, Non-Food, Health & Beauty, etc.).
2. Lead store audits to assess hygiene, food handling, display, and storage compliance.
3. Oversee supplier audits to ensure sourcing partners meet quality and safety requirements.
4. Manage warehouse audits to verify proper storage, handling, and traceability of products.
5. Monitor product quality performance and implement corrective actions when issues arise.
6. Ensure compliance with local food safety regulations, international standards (HACCP, ISO, GMP, etc.), and company
policies.
7. Coordinate with the Commercial, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve quality concerns.
8. Lead and train the QA team (supervisors/inspectors) to enhance quality monitoring capabilities.
9. Prepare and present quality audit reports and recommend continuous improvement measures.
Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Quality Assurance, Food Science, or related field.
2. Minimum 510 years of experience in QA, preferably in retail, supermarket, FMCG, or food manufacturing.
3. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000.
4. Experience in conducting supplier and warehouse audits.
5. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
6. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
