Chinese Interpreter/Translator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Chinese Interpreter/Translator to support our Fiber Optic Cable Production team. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), with the ability to translate technical documents, facilitate communication between English and Chinese-speaking team members, and support cross-cultural collaboration. This role is critical for ensuring clear and accurate communication in our multilingual work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translation of Documents: Translate technical documents, manuals, quality control reports, and other written materials from English to Chinese and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Interpretation Services: Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, training sessions, and other verbal communications between English and Chinese-speaking team members, suppliers, and clients.
• Technical Terminology: Accurately translate and interpret industry-specific terminology related to fiber optic cable production, ensuring that all parties understand the technical details.
• Cross-Cultural Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between English and Chinese-speaking employees, helping to bridge cultural differences and enhance teamwork.
• Support for Quality Control: Assist the Quality Control team by translating inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans, ensuring clear understanding among all stakeholders.
• Supplier and Client Communication: Support communication with Chinese-speaking suppliers and clients, ensuring that all technical specifications and quality requirements are clearly understood and met.
• Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of translated documents and interpreted communications, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in fiber optic technology to ensure accurate translation of technical content.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field; certifications in translation or interpretation are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a translator or interpreter, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Language Skills: Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with fiber optic cable production processes, materials, and industry terminology is preferred; willingness to learn technical concepts is essential.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and clarity in translation and interpretation.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to navigate and bridge cultural differences, fostering effective communication in a multicultural work environment.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with translation software and tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ethical Standards: High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical judgment in handling sensitive information.
