Quality Product Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Product Engineer to join our team in the Fiber Optic Cable Production industry. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality engineering, with proficiency in using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for product design and analysis. This role is critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards, from initial design through to production, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Quality Assurance: Ensure that fiber optic cables and related products meet company and industry quality standards across all stages of design, development, and production.
• Design for Quality: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to incorporate quality considerations into product designs, using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create and review technical drawings and models.
• CAD Modeling & Analysis: Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create, modify, and analyze 2D and 3D models of products, ensuring design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Testing & Validation: Develop and implement testing procedures to validate product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO). Use CAD tools to simulate stress, strain, and other performance factors.
• Failure Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on product failures, using CAD models to assist in identifying design flaws or manufacturing issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with production teams.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for design and process improvements, leading initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize production efficiency.
• Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components, providing CAD specifications and conducting supplier audits when necessary.
• Customer Focus: Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to understand customer requirements and ensure products meet or exceed their expectations.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control processes, test results, CAD designs, and design modifications.
• Compliance: Ensure that all products comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, participating in internal and external audits.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with advancements in fiber optic technology, CAD software, and quality engineering practices to continuously improve product design and quality.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, product engineering, or a related role, preferably in the fiber optic cable production or manufacturing industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required; strong understanding of fiber optic cable production processes, materials, and testing methods is preferred.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions to resolve product quality issues.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and statistical analysis skills, with experience in using quality management software and tools.
• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable products.
