Job Summary: The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the dry food manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement to drive profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of managers and supervisors to achieve production goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Production & Operation Oversight:
  • Ensure the manufacturing process runs smoothly, meeting production targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet demand.
  • Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet established standards.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues and implement corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance (EHS):

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure the plant complies with all relevant laws.

Financial Management P&L:

  • Prepare and manage budgets, including forecasting and financial planning.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Report on financial performance and production metrics to senior management.

Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that increase efficiency and speed.
  • Analyze data from shipping and delivery processes to identify bottlenecks and other issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor logistics to ensure they run smoothly and resolve any issues.
  • Train and mentor employees on best practices and safety guidelines.

Continuous Improvement (LEAN improvement):

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a 5- 10 year senior management role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost management.
