Job Summary: The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the dry food manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement to drive profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of managers and supervisors to achieve production goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Production & Operation Oversight:
- Ensure the manufacturing process runs smoothly, meeting production targets and quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet demand.
- Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet established standards.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues and implement corrective actions.
Safety and Compliance (EHS):
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure the plant complies with all relevant laws.
Financial Management P&L:
- Prepare and manage budgets, including forecasting and financial planning.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Report on financial performance and production metrics to senior management.
Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that increase efficiency and speed.
- Analyze data from shipping and delivery processes to identify bottlenecks and other issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor logistics to ensure they run smoothly and resolve any issues.
- Train and mentor employees on best practices and safety guidelines.
Continuous Improvement (LEAN improvement):
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a 5- 10 year senior management role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost management.
