Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the total quality control process from raw material to finished products through technical consultation, production quality control meetings, and monitoring to ensure that the merchandise conforms to company Quality Norms and specifications while all GDC requirements and regulations are adhered to and followed strictly according to Company norms.
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of all in-line inspections, final inspections, and effective use of technical services resources to ensure the maximum QC inspector coverage on existing production programs.
  • Interface with the Office technical services department, Merchandising, vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for quality improvement and specific inspection program issues. Relay to the appropriate and accurate quality and production status information to facilitate making decisions promptly. Offer corrective action suggestions to the manufacturer as appropriate and work directly with the factory during the implementation of the correction to ensure that the product conforms to company Quality Norms specifications.
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities in conjunction with counterparts in the Company. To diligently interface and cooperate to ensure adherence to company norms and efficient and accurate transfer of information at all times.
  • Co-ordinate and participate as appropriate in pre-production meetings for key programs. Ensure that the order requirements are clearly understood and alert the Supplier/Factory QC to potential problems to ensure conformity with Quality Norms specifications.
  • Inform, educate, and update existing factories in new or amendments to Quality Norms specifications. Train new vendors on company Quality Norms specifications and implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance to factories as appropriate on garment construction and improved production methods to effect quality and productivity improvements.
  • Provide ongoing technical advice to factories on work-in-progress statistical control and production procedures to improve and strengthen factory technical performance.
  • Support the Merchandising Department in sourcing and evaluating of suitable/potential additions to the manufacturing supply base.
  • Monitor QC inspector / technical recommendations and provide technical assistance and advice about machine/line setup, process, and quality improvement and compliance in accordance with Quality Norms specifications.
  • Review supplier quality performance data regularly and take appropriate action to improve the factory quality level to maintain the Quality Norms and standards.
  • Manage Production Engineer/QC inspector production schedules to ensure inspections are carried out timely and effectively.
  • Manage Production Engineer/QC inspector budget and forecast as appropriate.
  • Motivate, and develop employees to build quality bench strength and appropriate retention; create a positive environment and high staff morale.

Requirements:

  • · Training and experience:
  • Higher Diploma in Textile / University graduate; minimum 8 years relevant work experience of which at least 3 years in supervision/management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of factory operations, including line balancing, garment construction, and technical equipment evaluation.
  • Strong appreciation of pattern development and cutting.
  • Contemporary understanding of current wash development methods, garment finishing, and quality systems management
