Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in the Fiber Optic Cable Production industry. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards by implementing and maintaining quality control processes, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes for fiber optic cable production, including in-process inspections, final product testing, and documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase manufacturing efficiency through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Testing & Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze quality data, track performance metrics, and prepare reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in the production process.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control processes, test results, and compliance records, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Supplier Quality: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials, conduct supplier audits, and manage supplier non-conformance issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, TL 9000) and regulatory requirements by participating in internal and external audits.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry developments, new technologies, and advancements in fiber optic cable production to continually improve quality processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE) are a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the fiber optic cable production or a related manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fiber optic cable production processes, materials, and testing methods; familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 or TL 9000.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in root cause analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in quality management software, statistical analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work and ensuring product reliability.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to management.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
