Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving the companys sales growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies across multiple distribution channels. This role leads and develops the sales team, builds strong partnerships, and ensures consistent achievement of sales targets while maintaining high ethical and compliance standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies across all channels, including financial institutions, corporate partners, agencies, and direct sales.
- Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and distribution channels to expand market reach.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to continuously improve sales performance and product positioning.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance monitoring, and motivation to achieve individual and team targets.
- Promote a collaborative, ethical, and results-driven sales culture.
Partnership & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners such as financial institutions, NGOs, corporates, and community organizations.
- Lead business development activities including presentations, proposals, and negotiations.
- Represent the company at industry events and networking activities to enhance brand visibility.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
- Prepare regular sales performance reports, forecasts, and market insights for senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in insurance or financial services, including at least 2 years in a sales management role.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proven experience in leading and developing sales teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Insurance, microinsurance, or financial inclusion certifications are an advantage.
