Summary:
We are currently seeking an Financial Analyst in the DC Metro area to serve as an accounting expert. In this role, youll be assisting with the financial, administrative, technical and integration support services.
What you will be doing:
- Serving as technical advisor in resolving complex issues relating to accounting operations.
- Providing technical guidance in reviewing agency accounting systems policies, regulations, and operations.
- Analyzing business processes and supporting process improvements.
- Working individually and on teams to support the completion of project-specific tasks.
- Developing processing and system improvements.
- Preparing requirements analyses and assists in system design related to agency accounting functions.
- Analyzing and evaluating agency accounting systems, plans, procedures, and requirements relating to the implementation of financial systems.
- Evaluating technical proposals for conformance with sound Federal accounting, reporting, and financial management practices.
- Reviewing government-wide guidance on financial management and accounting, and advising management on any changes that affect financial operations.
- Preparing financial and other governmental reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or other relevant discipline.
- At least five or more years of Federal experience as an Accountant in relation to job responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of: General Ledger reconciliation, Oracle, Delphi, OBIEE (or PowerBI, Tableau, similar), USSGL Budgetary Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft business applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of G-invoicing with a strong background in Federal accounting or financial management.
- Ability to comfortably work with high-level Federal executives.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills used in client management and staff guidance, technical instructions, and status reporting.
- Experience with Reimbursable agreements, process flow documentation, and process improvement analysis.
- Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
